Basting can be fun with this hand-held tool, much easier to use than thread or pins.

The pistol-shaped Basting Gun uses a needle to penetrate the quilt sandwich. When you pull the trigger, the plastic fastener  rides down the needle, poking one end of the tack through the quilt sandwich and leaving the other end of the fastener on top.
